University of Brasilia
Gladys holds a PhD in Language Studies and works with English language teaching and teacher education at the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation at the University of Brasília (UnB), located in the capital of Brazil. She also coordinates the Applied Linguistics Post-graduation Program at the same university. Her main areas of interest and research are language testing, classroom language assessment, and language assessment literacy.

Walter is a professor and researcher at the University of Costa Rica (UCR), specializing in language assessment and testing, with more than 25 years of experience. He is the founder of the Language Evaluation and Training Program (PELEx) at UCR and has played a key role in the development of language assessment initiatives at both the national and regional levels. Walter served as Secretary of the Latin American Association for Language Testing and Assessment (LAALTA) for two years.

Juliana holds an MA and a PhD in Language Studies, and postdoctoral studies focused on the teachers’ education and teaching of English in Early Childhood (Université de Geneva; Unemat and UnB). She is an associate professor at the Modern Languages Department at Londrina State University, Brazil. She teaches and supervises undergraduate and graduate students both in the Language Studies Program and the Professional Master's Program. She is a member at large of the Latin American Association for Language Testing and Assessment (LAALTA) and a member of the BrazTesol Young Learners Special Interest Group. Her research field includes Linguistic Education in Early Childhood, focused on second language, bi/multi and plurilinguism, and children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities(SEND). She is the founder and leader of the Research Group FELICE/ CNPq (Brazilian Research Council).

Elsa holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and ELT from the University of Southampton. She is a recipient of the 2015 Research Assessment Award from the British Council, and currently she is Director and Full Professor at the Faculty of Education and Humanities of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, Mexico. Her areas of interest include classroom assessment of ESL/EFL productive skills and assessment literacy.

Marion is responsible for the academic and administrative processes of the English Language Proficiency Tests and Language Assessment Program (EXAVER) at Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico. With over ten years of experience, he specializes in test design, validation, and administration. A PhD candidate in Applied Linguistics, he researches consequential validity and promotes Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in language assessment.

He holds a Postgraduate Advanced Certificate in Educational Assessment from the University of Cambridge and a Diploma in Education Policy from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. Before joining Cambridge University Press & Assessment, he managed projects in the areas of remote teaching, internationalisation of higher education and language teaching to refugees for the British Council and led the Education department of the Buenos Aires Herald newspaper.

Yoan Martínez

Yoan Martínez is a professor at the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) in Cuba whose work focuses on English language teaching, language assessment, and the use of ICT in education. He has participated in multiple training and professional development programs related to language assessment literacy. His research examines the sustainability of language assessment and the adaptation of international language standards to the Cuban educational context. Currently, he serves as Director of the Language Center and leads the Cuban Assessment Project for Higher Education. He is also responsible for quality assurance for the British Council Academic Committee in Cuba within the “English for Development” project.

With over 20 years in education and 10 in assessment, she specializes in test design, training, and quality assurance, advocating for evidence-based, fair, and inclusive language assessment practices.

Gerriet is a Research Scientist at ETS. His current research interests are centered on the development of tests of second language writing, improving the quality of feedback provided to test takers, and exploring the principles of socio-culturally responsive assessments. Gerriet is one of the founding members of LAALTA.
